Position Summary
:AF105S is a large first-year course with a cap of 200 students. It is designed to provide incoming Arts students with the tools necessary to successfully transition from high school to university. Students will attend 1.5 hours of lecture each week and 1.5 hours of tutorial led by either the instructor or instructional assistant. The instructor will be responsible for overseeing initial training of IAs on topics such as lesson planning and delivery for tutorials, providing effective feedback on written work, and using rubrics. This course is intended to guide students through a deep understanding of how four primary academic pillars (reading, writing, research, oral presentation) are different in a university learning environment, as compared to the work completed in high school.
