About This Opportunity

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Mental Health Support Worker - )

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values and the strategic direction of Island Health, patient and staff safety is a priority. The ACT Mental Health Support Worker is a member of a multidisciplinary and multi‑agency outreach team that provides community‑based support services, assists in mental health and addictions treatment, delivers life‑skills training, coaching, advocacy, and advice to clients with mental health, behavioral, and developmental problems and to their caregivers/families. The role involves motivating, assisting, and instructing clients in activities of daily living, reporting clients’ progress and condition, and documenting reactions to medications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing outreach community‑based support services.
  • Co‑ordinating mental health and addictions treatment.
  • Delivering life‑skills training and coaching.
