Doane House Hospice is a community‑based hospice offering compassionate care to people who have a life‑limited diagnosis/illness, caregivers, and those who are bereaved by the death of a family member or friend living in north Aurora, Newmarket, Bradford, and East Gwillimbury.
Bereavement support groups are closed groups which typically run for 6‑8 weeks with 8‑10 participants at various times throughout the year. Group participants have experienced the death of a loved one. Volunteers will facilitate groups in pairs with another volunteer or placement student and/or staff member.
Time Commitment: 3‑5 hours per week for 6‑8 week groups; groups run 4‑5 times per year.
