The position is based in Bogota, Colombia and the incumbent reports to the Director of UNMAS, following political and operational guidance from the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC). Established in 1997, UNMAS works to eliminate the threat posed by mines, explosive remnants of war and improvised explosive devices by coordinating United Nations mine action, leading operational responses at the country level, and supporting the development of standards, policies and norms.
