Consultant in Infectious Diseases with either Microbiology or General Medicine
University Hospital Monklands. NHS Lanarkshire is seeking to appoint two new Infection Consultants. The role is based at University Hospital Monklands (UHM) and will be part of a newly established Department of Infection, joining nine existing consultants and two specialty doctors.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical infection services as an Infectious Diseases specialist with a background in either Microbiology or General Medicine.
Participate in restructuring the delivery of clinical infection services in NHS Lanarkshire to create a more holistic bench‑to‑bedside infection service.
Lead and support the expansion of the regional OPAT (outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy) service, ensuring equitable access to outpatient IV antibiotics throughout Lanarkshire.
Engage in teaching, research, educational, and quality improvement activities as part of the department.
