Craftshop Director Role Overview The Craftshop Director leads the camp’s woodworking and creative arts department. This role balances technical shop management with the mentorship of campers & staff, ensuring a secure setting where participants of all levels experience a genuine sense of achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Design and execute daily programs and special events. Focus on projects that complement our rustic setting (e.g., paddle carving, woodburning, and wilderness-based crafts).
- Staff Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate Craftshop Assistants; provide “staff-only” shop hours to foster community and skill-building.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict shop safety protocols. Maintain all equipment to qualified standards and manage inventory/budgeting in coordination with the Business & Camp Directors.
