The Dietitian is responsible and accountable for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. The position involves advising on diet and nutrition across all health sectors and providing leadership in team efforts to support patients’ nutritional health, including the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition and medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process.
The Dietitian participates in the Dietetic Practicum and Internship program, preceptoring and mentoring Dietetic students. An evidence-informed approach to practice is required, and the Dietitian will collaborate with the broader healthcare team to share nutrition expertise, ensure quality and continuity of care, and support a range of services within a holistic, client‑centered framework.
