Saanich Peninsula Hospital (SPH) is currently seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians to provide locum coverage in a supportive community hospital setting.
SPH is a 65‑bed acute care hospital with an 18‑bed Emergency Department that sees approximately 38,000 patients annually, including both pediatric and adult populations. As the primary referral hospital for the Southern Gulf Islands, SPH serves a total population of approximately 87,000.
The Emergency Department is staffed by a collegial and progressive group of 16 full‑ and part‑time emergency physicians, with six shifts per day and 15 hours of double coverage. Daytime in‑hospital support includes Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, and Respiratory Therapy, along with access to numerous community‑based specialists.
