Responsibilities
Responsible to draft and negotiate contracts and agreements and ensure they meet the NWMO’s requirements and are in line with the NWMO’s business objectives.Understand and advise on implications of federal and provincial legislative and regulatory frameworks that will be relevant for the future phases of work at the NWMO including implications related to impact assessment, transportation, nuclear fuel waste and construction law.Recommend actions to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations within business constraints and contribute to developing creative solutions.Provide legal advice and strategic guidance, in a timely and organized manner, on labour relations matters and in support of the collective bargaining process.Collaborate with management to develop effective strategies on a variety of issues.Carry out research to keep up to date with legislative and case law ...
