Primary Purpose
The Network Engineer III is the senior position responsible for designing, securing, maintaining and installing networking, telecommunications and computer systems, including advanced troubleshooting. This is a leadership role with limited supervision of junior network engineers.
Essential Functions
- Leads, designs, acquires, oversees installation, configures, maintains and troubleshoots the University’s data and voice infrastructure including PBX, voicemail, call accounting and other voice related systems.
- Manages network performance by periodically baseline-lining capacity and performance and projecting resource usage.
- Defines, plans, schedules and coordinates “moves, adds or changes.”
- Provides detailed technical analysis for projects requiring network and telecommunications connectivity, including security, telecommunications and wireless.
