Network Engineer functions in three main areas, Operations, Planning, and Management.
Operations:
Actively monitoring the network and responding to alerts and verifying notifications sent by network monitoring and management systems. Acting as first line of support for network incidents, perform initial troubleshooting and triage before categorizing and escalating incident tickets. Maintaining incident management and documentation throughout the incident’s lifecycle. Planning:
Coordinating and communicating maintenance windows. Working with local site IT leaders and Network administrators to provide maintenance windows and describe maintenance impact according to thorough impact analysis.
