Position Overview
Main Functions
Communication. Works harmoniously with other tradesmen. Professional Responsibility. Apply various types of surface covering such as paint, varnish and wallpaper. Prepare surfaces by scraping, removing old paint and wallpaper, patching, sanding, sealing, in readiness for surface covering. Performs function of drywall tape and finisher on all construction or renovations performed by department staff. Completes as necessary plaster repairs of a size normally associated with a plasterer on renovations to plaster wall carried out by the department staff. Applies surface covering with brush, roller or spray to achieve the time-area standard. Works on ladders, scaffolds, etc., as high as four storeys with a safety belt, on windows, trim, etc., to maintain interior and exterior of buildings. Quality Improvement.
