Island Health is seeking a part-time General Psychiatrist in Nanaimo, working with the Complex Care Housing Team. Provide psychiatric services to vulnerable populations with collaborative support.
This role is for a General Psychiatrist who will serve part-time, averaging about 7.5 hours weekly and providing care for at least 44 weeks each year. Your collaboration with other health professionals will ensure psychiatric and medical stabilization for adult patients experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, addressing severe mental health issues and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct psychiatric assessments and case formulations
• Manage medication for a full range of psychiatric disorders
• Collaborate with addiction medicine physicians and other professionals
• Provide on-site services within Island Health or community sites
