Patient Family Experience Care Specialist

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Manager of Quality & Safety, the Patient Safety Specialist supports the SHA in the identification, analysis, trending and reporting of safety events and patient safety concerns;
• Developing program/service improvement actions and specific initiatives related to improving the quality and safety of care and services, including increasing patient and family involvement in safety reporting and follow up;
• Facilitating the development of recommendations and actions to mitigate the risk of reoccurrence with operational ownership;
• Ensuring legislative requirements are met;
• Developing clinical safety policies and safety reporting;
• Maintaining the Critical Incident database;
• Supporting the development of patient safety reporting processes and databases;
• Providing SHA employee safety education and training.
