Patient Family Experience Care Specialist
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Manager of Quality & Safety, the Patient Safety Specialist supports the SHA in the identification, analysis, trending and reporting of safety events and patient safety concerns;
- Developing program/service improvement actions and specific initiatives related to improving the quality and safety of care and services, including increasing patient and family involvement in safety reporting and follow up;
- Facilitating the development of recommendations and actions to mitigate the risk of reoccurrence with operational ownership;
- Ensuring legislative requirements are met;
- Developing clinical safety policies and safety reporting;
- Maintaining the Critical Incident database;
- Supporting the development of patient safety reporting processes and databases;
- Providing SHA employee safety education and training.
