Responsibilities
Peace Officers provide a uniformed, community-based presence; maintaining social order, keeping the peace, enforcing Municipal, Provincial and Federal laws (where authorized), attending court, preventing crime, addressing matters of public safety, and responding to the needs of the community, city-wide through proactive patrols and dispatched calls.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide education, investigation and enforcement of specific City Bylaws, Provincial Statutes and Federal Laws. This will involve the collection of evidence, completion of reports, and providing court/adjudicator testimony.
- Complete proactive foot, bicycle, and vehicle patrols of assigned areas within the City to deter negative behaviours, identify infractions or safety concerns, and assist the public when required.
