Full Time Permanent (5 hours & 50 minutes/day)

The Educational Associate provides support services to students and teachers in a school setting within the division to meet curricular outcomes. The duties vary depending on the special needs of students.

Duties

• Assist in the supervision of the classroom during short periods under the direction of the teacher, including when the teacher works with individual students or groups in or out of the classroom, in playgrounds, lunch or rest areas, and during recreational activities and outdoor trips on a one‑to‑one or group basis.
• Assist students requiring intensive supports with gross and fine motor skill development; support inclusion by reinforcing social and personal skills; provide support to attain curricular outcomes and/or goals identified in the Inclusion and Intervention Plan under teacher supervision.
