Quality Council of India (QCI) is a national body established in 1997 by the Government of India and leading industry associations (ASSOCHAM, CII, and FICCI) to build and manage the country’s accreditation framework and promote quality across sectors. Registered as a not-for-profit society, QCI operates under its own Memorandum of Association and Rules & Regulations, with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, as its nodal ministry. QCI’s accreditation services support international trade by ensuring global acceptance of certifications, inspections, and testing in areas such as quality, environment, and food safety. Through the National Quality Campaign, QCI encourages organizations to adopt quality standards and tools while enabling consumers to demand high-quality goods and services.
