The Public Health Inspector is responsible for carrying out the public health programs and services in the areas of prevention enforcement, promotion, protection and education, which are based upon Ontario Public Health Standards and Guidelines, as well as provincial and local legislation. The Public Health Inspector performs public health inspections, investigations, enforcement of health protection regulations, promotion of public health principles and eliminates or decreases infectious diseases and health hazards that impact the well‑being of the community.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Inspect facilities and premises to assess compliance with pertinent acts, regulations and by‑laws
