Overview
The Regional Dementia Care Program provides comprehensive specialized assessment and treatment of older adults (usually >65 years old) and/or adults with an age-related dementia that is complicated by behavioural and psychological symptoms and/or medical comorbidities exceeding the capacity of the community, general hospital, complex continuing care and long-term care system.
Qualifications
Certification/Experience/Knowledge
- Current Certificate of Registration — College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certificate (within the last twelve months)
- Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate
- Experience working with older adults demonstrating responsive behaviours and evidence of creative application of Personhood
- Knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders, best practices, and relevant pharmacotherapy for this popula...
