Job Summary

A member of the surgical team that focuses on identifying and meeting the individual needs of surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience. The Registered Nurse provides excellent care to the surgical population using critical thinking skills guided by the Perioperative Standards through the ORNAC Standards, Guidelines and Position Statements. Working in collaboration with the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse OR/RR/Day Surgery/CSR uses basic and expanded nursing knowledge to address the physiological, psychological, socio‑cultural and spiritual responses of the patient of the surgical event, with the objective of maintaining or regaining optimal patient health.
