Summary of Duties

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre has an prospect for an experienced Registered Nurse with current orthopaedic experience including knowledge of Joint Replacement Surgeries, pre-operative assessment, and familiarity of the post-operative discharge process. The individual must have solid clinical assessment skills and organizational abilities.

• Provides pre and post-operative patient education.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, completes and reviews POP Nursing assessments and related documentation to assess and follow up on any outstanding patient issues.
• Actively participates in process improvements, educational activities and research.
• Provides physical assistance with patient transfers, relief coverage on patient care units, and the out-patient department.
