To respond to the priorities of the Government of Ontario through the passage of Bill 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025, the resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5 related projects or initiatives on an as needed basis.

Background This Ceres application was launched in February 2023 for ministry users, to improve management of plant health data and enable timely access to critical information (present and historical), as well as efficient identification of pest threats. The requirement is to make sure that the CERES application is continuously available, while also enabling implementation of bug fixes, issue resolution or minor improvements, based on user feedback.
