Position Overview

Selkirk Mental Health Centre (SMHC) Security Services is built around a recovery model where building relationships with patients, staff and the public is encouraged.

SMHC is a 252-bed 24-hour facility that provides specialized inpatient mental health and acquired brain injury treatment and rehabilitation services to residents of Manitoba and Nunavut whose challenging needs cannot be met elsewhere in the provincial health care system.

SMHC has five specialized patient programs Acute, Geriatric, Rehabilitation, Forensic and Acquired Brain Injury that are delivered on a campus-like setting with several buildings located throughout the property, as well as three offsite community group homes located in Selkirk.
