The North Coast Transmission (NCT) Portfolio is a large, multi-year program of capital projects to build new transmission infrastructure in BC’s Northwest to support our customers and resource development in the region. The current portfolio is focused on advancing the NCT Phase 1 and Phase 2 500 kV transmission lines between Prince George and Terrace, and the NCT Phase 3 500 kV transmission line North of Terrace. NCT is one of 4 projects in BC identified by the Government of Canada Major Project Office as ‘Projects of National Interest’. NCT plays an important role for BC Hydro in advancing reconciliation and building new partnerships with First Nations, including through opportunities for co-ownership and collaboration on environmental planning and management.
