Org. Setting and Reporting
Within delegated authority and depending on location, the Senior Public Information Officer may be responsible for the following duties:
- Monitor and analyze current events, the press and public opinion to identify issues and trends at global and regional levels. Based on this analysis, advise the senior management of ECLAC on strategic communications, public outreach and campaigns, crisis communications, and reputational issues.
- Conceptualize, design, and lead the implementation of the overall communication strategy, programme and activities in line with the UN Global Communications Strategy to keep the public informed of the Commission's goals and activities; promote its branding and positioning in national, regional and global media; secure public endorsement for ECLAC's mandate; and mobilize action in support of ECLAC's work.
