The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary offers a Sessional Instructor position to teach ENAE 410 Aerospace Analysis and Design during the Fall 2026 term.
Basics of aerospace performance and design. Introduction to various types of aerospace vehicles and their principles of operation. Performance and design of conventional fixed-wing aircraft with a focus on modern applications. A basic introduction to aerospace engineering principles related to aircraft configuration, aerodynamics, equations of motion, structural considerations, weight estimates, basic maneuvers, propulsion, and control are covered. Elements of the design process are introduced, including the concept of operations, setting engineering requirements, detailed design, verification and validation, and consideration of multidisciplinary factors.
