Summary of Duties
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for carrying out assessments, treatment and for ongoing evaluation in a busy inpatient and outpatient program. The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide care for a diverse patient population. Patient populations that require speech-language pathology services include burns, neurological rehab, stroke, oncology, amputee, multiple trauma, and orthopedic populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, interview and observe patients and complete special tests and measurements to formulate clinical diagnoses and implement customized speech-language pathology programs.
- Based on the analysis of examination findings, select and implement a treatment program to achieve rehabilitation goals.
- Manage a patient caseload in relation to the referral base including Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and Motor Vehicle Collision referrals and Independent Assessments.
