Detailed Overview

The Supervisor, Dispensary/Parenteral Services is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the dispensary, parenteral service area, ward stock and other designated areas. Supervises designated staff; optimizes utilization of staff and other resources through monitoring of workload, workflow and performance efficiency. Ensures that staff orientation and training objectives are attained during assigned shifts and provides feedback on shift activities to the Coordinator, Distribution Pharmacy Services. Provides input for new or revised dispensary/parenteral services related policies and procedures; participates in developing orientation programs for new staff, monitors quality assurance and performs workload measurement of tasks in assigned area; preceptors student pharmacists, pharmacy residents, pharmacy technicians and assistants students and performs pharmacist functions as required.
