Job title: Teacher - Special

Reports to: Principal

This post will initially be based in the post-primary department, General Subjects. The post is to carry out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the Teachers’ (Terms and Conditions of Employment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987, Schedule 3, Regulation 5.

Responsibilities

• Exercise of general professional duties
• Planning and preparing courses and lessons; teaching pupils according to their educational needs; setting and marking work
• Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
• Promoting the general progress and well-being of pupils; providing advice and guidance on educational and social matters
• Making and maintaining records and reports on pupils; communicating with parents and external bodies
