Job Description

The Engineering and Operations Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. They serve as a technical resource to support Amazon’s data centers and ensure that equipment supporting mission‑critical servers maintains uptime better than 99.999%. The role also drives innovation to reduce operational costs and acts as the first responder for electrical and mechanical issues that impact service availability.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in data center or building operations, or an equivalent mission‑critical environment.
• In‑depth understanding of electrical and mechanical data center systems, including generators, transformers, electrical distribution, UPS, ATS, pumps, HVAC (AHU, CRAH, CRAC), building management system (BMS), electrical power monitoring system (EPMS), and data trend analysis.
